Outdoor Environments, Inc. has been in business since 1991. We have designed and built hundreds of decks and outdoor living projects in the Kansas City area. We are charter members of the Kansas City National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) as well as the Home Builder’s Association of Greater Kansas City. Our many awards and national recognition over the years demonstrates our excellent reputation throughout the industry.

Our Production manager is a Certified Lead Carpenter and comes from a strong background in home construction.

History

When architecturally trained engineer Dick DeVuyst replaced the old deck on his house with a two-level living space complete with screened porch, hot tub and planters, he didn’t realize he was starting a new career. But word-of-mouth soon had DeVuyst so busy he found a new venture in pursuing his passion for building and design full-time.

In 1991, DeVuyst christened his new company Outdoor Environments, a name evocative of his desire to help homeowners add not just a deck – but create an outdoor living room.
